Building History
Driftwood Market has a new home at 49 S. Main Street in Downtown Winter Garden!
This building was constructed around 1912 and was originally two stories high. However, in the 1920s the second story was removed due to damage.
This store was once home to the Piggly Wiggly grocery store and then became McCord's Feed Store which originally opened in 1947. Despite the store going through name changes and different owners, the store provided local citrus and vegetables to farmers in the area and held expertise in livestock, equine, and gardening. It was even home to Phyllis the chicken and Flower the rabbit.
Now at this spot is Driftwood Market, a boutique offering a curated collection of unique gifts, home décor, and accessories. Established in 2015, and moved from 46 W. Plant Street, Driftwood Market continues the building's legacy as a vibrant part of the downtown community.
